@Mastodon I’m trying to add another account and on the web it’s giving me crap about blocking cookies…like of course I’m blocking #cookies. In the #mastonaut desktop app when I select said #secondaccount it gives me an all black screen. The account was created through web browser and everything was verified. Any thoughts?

Half a year in, finally getting close to shipping this.

It’s always funny to me which parts are hard and which ones aren’t. Spent a ton of work figuring out drag & drop in NSCollectionView, and autolayout trouble (agaaaaaain). Things like the animations, though? Easy-peasy.

#Mastonaut 1.9, a macOS Mastodon client, is out!

This is mostly a behind-the-scenes update. But aside from minor fixes 🐞, it does add:

✔ pull-to-refresh now works within threads
✔ you can now navigate to the profiles of people who favorited or boosted a toot, or who are follows or followers of someone

Da hat sich die #Mastonaut App ein paar GB zu viel Speicher gegönnt und das OS geht in die Knie… hab ich ja auch noch nicht gehabt.

Does #Mastonaut support setting/finding the language of the toot much like #IceCubesApp, @chucker?

✔ autocompletion for emoji (try typing :cat),
✔ some help,
✔ the ability to have multiple compose windows at once,
✔ the option to show very long toots directly in the timeline,

#Mastonaut 1.7 High Sierra Edition offers some of the features of 1.4 through 1.7, but for people on macOS 10.13 High Sierra through 11.0 Big Sur.

Compared to the App Store release, 1.7 HSE lets you edit posts and view edit history, shows interaction counts, opens linked toots in the app, supports non-default character limits, lets you view your favorites and bookmarks, and search for toots, adds pull-to-refresh, and lets you view lists.

- #Whalerider: Fand ich irgendwie hakelig in der Bedienung. Meinte irgendwann bei jedem Start, ich müsste updaten, obwohl es die altuellste Version war.
- #Mastonaut: Eigentlich toll, aber ich konnte nie sehen, welche Toots von mir geliked oder geboostert worden sind.
- #Mastodon und #Icecube (Apps eigentlich für #iOS ): Gefallen mir, haben aber eben haptische Befehle, die mit dem Trackpad nix sind. Bei Mastodon schwierig auf die…[1/2]

Trying out #Whalebird as a desktop Mastodon client. Familiar slack workspace feel to it so far. I prefer apps to browser tabs and quite liked #Mastonaut but it seemed a bit limited.

Does anyone know why Mastonaut sometimes does this?

Seems to be when it has trouble loading Notifications from the server. Screenshot taken from an account on mstdn.science just now.
