I joined a Bandcamp Listening Party for the first time today. It was a really fun experience. The folks in the chat were nice and everyone seemed to be really interested in the music and discussion around it. I also liked how much the artist engaged with folks in the chat and talked about their process in making the songs.

I’ve thought about doing one myself for my next release and based on this experience I’m leaning towards doing it. I’m really curious to learn more about what the hosting experience is like.

These particular songs will be fun to record and perform. Since I am loading samples to use as loops and I’m triggering them by selecting the pads instead of creating patterns I need to make sure the timing is really precise or else things can get out of time. Playing today it seemed to do it in a cool way, but it could definitely get too far out of sync. I will likely experiment with patterns to how I can create arrangements of the various drum parts.
