Looks like all my work on updating Gamepad.Club has paid off!

After spending some time tuning the configuration, the instance feels much more responsive with none of the slowdown experienced previously.

We’ve even had user migrations come over with no hit to performance. I’d call that a win!

#fediverse question: Does #instance size matter? I know I have to #migrate from #MastodonLol and plan to but I'm pretty stuck up on where to go. There are some smaller instances that I really like but I'm afraid that I might struggle for interactions due to the small size. There are also bigger instances I'm also looking at but I really like #calckey over #mastodon and the big ones are typically #masto. Any #advice is appreciated! :_gaysparkle: :blobcattrans:

It feels a bit ghoulish to jump in on another server's closure but for those who need a new home now that mastodon.lol is shutting down, we still have plenty of room to grow on retro.pizza! We're a queer-run (but not queer-only) nerd culture instance with a small but healthy community and an admin who is very old and calloused by the Transformers Fandom Message Board Wars of the '00s.

I need your help!

So mastodon.lol is shutting down in three months and I need to find a good trans friendly Mastodon instance.

Please tell me what instance you're on and make a case to me as to why I should move there.

Edit: I looked at some of the servers suggested. Some are just too small, too big, or their rules are too strict. I'm actually thinking in leaving Mastodon altogether. :(
