One thing I can say I'm truly grateful for this year is the work I've put in over previous years. I've been pretty burned out recently and neglected my garden this year. But despite that, a bunch of bulbs and volunteers are coming up - it feels like I may still have a good season despite not having the energy to really apply myself to the task this year.

Well I haven't posted a decent update for far too long. @alice_swaggen and I have fully populated the bed after fending off some wildlife attacks. The tomatillos are looking good and the kabocha is growing nicely. @GwenfarsGarden's suggestion of sticks as a defensive measure has worked wonderfully!

Planted two trees the other day. This one is a cherry tree i found about ten meters from the neighbors tree growing out from a big root. I think it's gonna make it. And i made this little guy to keep the temperature in the greenhouse. :)

Sorry I've not been posting gardening updates; things have kind if been a lot recently. To make up for it, here's a compost bin @alice_swaggen and I built today from discarded IKEA furniture and a palette!

A watercolour experiment I did a while ago using masking fluid. Subject is one of the leaves from this plant.
Can anyone tell me what this plant is by the way? I love it but it was sold as a leafy plant.

Garden update! My tomatillos are starting to really bear fruit. The most amazing thing is how resilient these little blighters are. They've been blown over by the wind, chewed up by snails, had bit fall off as a result...
The bits that were knocked off the plants were dutifully put in water, grew roots, and were repotted meaning that from 18 seeds I've now got a yield of 20-21 healthy plants!

Gardening update! @alice_swaggen just sent me some progress on my #tomatillos and #kabocha #pumpkins. We've beenhaving a problem with the fruit turning yellow and rotting on the vine, but this big boi looks like he might hang around!
The tomatillo fruit are finally closing back up their paper lanterns to mature; getting excited now!

I went on a forage in the park and made a new friend! My wife managed to find it nestled in the crack of some tree plant. Here's hoping it eats all my aphids! 🐞🐞🐞

Week 3 and a good number of my seeds are sprouting. Still waiting on my sweet peppers, Thai basil and bergamot. However my coriander, chives and kabocha are looking very healthy!
