WRITING IS WINNING
Why Human Expression Still Matters in the Age of AI Content

I stepped away from writing for over two decades… and somehow found my way back.

In a world flooded with content, I’m learning that what is real still stands out.

This is a reflection on my journey back to writing—and why I believe it still quietly wins.

“Grrrrrr.”
“Oh, hey, buddy. How’s today’s flight been?”
“Quite good. Feasted on a moose and the sunbathed on the region’s highest peak. What about you?”
“Well…”
“Still heartbroken?”
“Hem…”
“I see.”
“I mean...you know how long we’ve been a couple, right? Did I tell you?”
“Something like fifty moon cycles, if I remember correctly.”
“Yeah, four years.”
“Why don’t you just go find another mate there, if it makes you feel so bad?”

If I'm going to post daily random snippets of my #WIP on here, I probably need to give it a hashtag #100DaysofWriting.

I'm on! I think I made it! I'm a fiction writer , two story collections and two novels, and teacher, now at SUNY Stony Brook and Alma College, looking to connect with #Mastodonwriters. Also Fiction Editor of Scoundrel Time.

So I did a thing, I made @lgbtqbookstodon, @transbookstodon and @mmromance after coming across @sapphicbooks and @lesfic. There's also @bookstodon

If you tag these in your posts, your post will be boosted to the timeline of anyone who follows the group.

I keep deleting and rewriting this because I think of better things or things I should take out. Perhaps I'll just thread things instead. #MastodonWriters for example!
