Mastodon Belgium werd zonet upgraded naar Mastodon v4.5.0 !
Quote toots zijn nu mogelijk.Als 1337 Linux expert kon ik de downtime terugdringen van het voorziene uur naar net iets meer dan 10 minuten 😎

Intussen is alles upgraded, up & running op v4.5.0 !

Mastodon Belgium and Mastodon Vlaanderen were just upgraded to the latest v4.4.4 version of Mastodon !

*** MAINTENANCE COMPLETE ***
Mastodon Belgium & Vlaanderen are now fully upgraded: backend servers patched and frontend servers rocking Mastodon v4.4.1 !
The DB server is still crunching through the database and might attempt to strangle me later, but all in all the upgrade went really well !
The goal was one hour but mediastorage took quite a while to check its filesystems.
And compiling Ruby etc took its time as well.
But WE'RE HERE ! -
As you might have read: Mastodon v4.4.0 has been released !
This is a new major release with a big changelog and hefty upgrade process, so we'll wait a bit before upgrading, contrary to previous v4.3.x upgrade patches.
When we upgrade to v4.4.0 we'll also upgrade the backend servers and that will cause a longer downtime.
Our test server is already running the new v4.4.0 code so we'll see how that one runs.

For those who are still following (and might have noticed a brief hickup in service): Mastodon Belgium and Mastodon Vlaanderen are now running the latest v4.3.9 code !
Mastodon v4.4 is around the corner, very excited for that final release !

Mastodon Belgium and Mastodon Vlaanderen were already patched from v4.3.4 to v4.3.5 but just now we also upgraded to the v4.3.6 security patches.

Mastodon Belgium en Mastodon Vlaanderen werden zonet upgraded naar v4.3.3 !
Dit keer was de downtime bijzonder kort 😉 -
Vannacht hebben de Mastodon Belgium en Mastodon Vlaanderen servers een OS update gekregen (Debian 12.8 --> 12.9).
De downtime was (een pak) langer dan voorzien omdat er tegelijkertijd met de File System Check van de Media Storage ook een RAID resync aan de gang was.
Intussen is alles weer online en is de backlog aan 't procesen.
Excuses voor de (extra lange) downtime. -

In anticipation of the #Mastodon v4.3 release, our Mastodon instances were just upgraded to Security Release v4.2.13 !

Everything is up & running again so users should not notice any hiccups anymore.
If you do, please let me know.Meanwhile we'll still be performing cleanups & refreshes for a few more hours to come but, as for most of our work, that will go unnoticed.
