I was today years old when I, for the first time in my life, opened the back of a loaded film camera.

Lessons learned:

a. DON'T be stupid
b. DO be smart
c. ✨️Clearly✨️ label your bulk-loaded film canisters so that you can actually see them through the sight window of the camera back!

Let's see how much damage a brief 1.2" exposure in dim room light does to an ISO 400 film. And how many frames were ruined. 😵

This Foma 400 is incredibly thin, and it feels like hunting spectres in an old victorian mansion.

Totally a user error as well: MDC said to invert the tank every 5-10 minutes. I misread this as "invert once at the 30 minute mark" 🤪

Next steps: Maybe try to up my reading comprehension. Maybe try Foma 400 @ 6400 in Rodinal?

This means that my quest to get an example of each 1-digit Nikon Fs is 50 % complete!

✅ All speeds work.
✅ Light meter works.
✅ Hot shoe and PC-sync for flash work.
✅ LCDs are clear (mostly).
✅ A fvcking joy to use.
❌ Manual focus for a cheeky self-portrait is still tricky. Oh well!

Finally got around and fixed the new-ish #Mastodon author attribution on wetphoto as well. Admittedly, it's a bit on the heavy side of my regular ego stroking - as if anybody other than me would repost links to my gig ramblings.
