I don't understand ... I thought my home feed was just accounts I followed, maybe local to my server accounts too. My home feed has been full of trash that I'm like, why did I ever follow this account? But then I click to look at the account page, and I'm not following them ... and they aren't a newsie.social either.

Did something change? Or have I just always been wrong and confused about my "home" feed?

Can anyone tell me if there's a way to restore a follow request? I got one and meant to accept it, but I hit the X by mistake and now I can't find it. So, I've been thinking of setting up my own mastodon server. It would be for only me and a few close friends in the www.PotholeStudios.com gaming community.

However, I seem to be running into a few snags.

1. I only have access to Windows server. No Linux. As I have other server software for some games that only run on windows server.
(I have a 1U Rack Server in my home office with plenty of performance to spare, running windows server)

2. Everybody's favourite, Dynamic IP.
(Router does have the ability to use DynDNS and/or NO-IP)

3. I do have a domain name, but I'd probably have to use a subdomain such as social.potholestudios.com or mastodon.potholestudios.com so how would I link a subdomain like that to a server on a dynamic IP through GoDaddy using DynDNS or No-IP?

4. No money to buy another server or cloud storage.

5. Once had a Linux server. Debian 5 has put me off Linux for life. Never again.

So, the question is, is it possible to run a Mastodon server with these limitations?

Has anyone been able to figure out a way to verify your Mastodon account using a site hosted by Google Sites? They strip out rel="me" from the code and I haven't been able to find a workaround. #MastodonQuestions #verifications

An additional #MastodonNewbie question. There is a 'language' button in the thing I'm typing this #toot in right now. With me, it's set on NL (Dutch) as a standard, yet I toot in Dutch and English. Is it good practice to set the function to EN every time I toot in English, or is the only thing being influenced by that the correction of my spelling?

Is it possible to restrict my profile page so that it doesn't show my replies to my posts (which displays the post thread in backwards chronological order)?

My OCD requires a clean profile page, LOL. (I probably won't thread if that's how it works.)

I don't think there's a way to hide my replies from my profile page, but I figured I'd ask.
