Okay maybe someone more experienced than me with Mastodon can answer this: does clicking on a hashtag only show you results from the server your on + people you follow? I hope not because that REALLY sucks if you’re not on a big server. And since there’s no real search….

I'm seeing a few variation of this

"if you see this toot, can you boost it for me? It will help my new server federate with the wider Mastodon network."

A)Does it actually help a new server federate with the wider Mastodon network, and if so, can someone explain how?

B)If it does actually work I'd rather not promote weirdos/fash etc - so how can we check into the kudos/merits of the server without joining it?

Can someone following #Rstats please explain how `@` tagging works? Does it need to be the _full_ user & server, e.g. (and esp.) `@rstats` ?? Just using `@rstats` doesn't work... #MastodonNoob
