@[email protected] @[email protected] @evanprodromou Ooo... So, if I get this right, this is another way of making hashtag-based timelines (like I describe here: https://bammerlaan.nl/posts/Using-hashtags-Mastodon)
You could make a Mastodon list, fill it with the accounts boosting the hashtags you like and you have the same effect!

When i don't have time to read all the posts in a Mastodon list, i now use a Gemini App (made in Google AI Studio) to quickly make a summary and overview of the highlights, shared links etc.
Mastodon lists are a great way to organize your Mastodonfeed by the way.

Speed of Creativity: Sharing Mastodon Lists. “I am a BIG fan of the federated social media platform Mastodon, and this evening I used Claude.ai to generate code in an HTML file which allows me to quickly share my LISTS on Mastodon with others. Unlike Twitter, lists on Mastodon are PRIVATE and not directly sharable with others. I spent some time both Googling and using AI tools to try and […]

DID YOU KNOW that you can create your own timelines using the List feature?
Here's a video run-down on how to use Lists on Mastodon by @paulomalley 💜

Did you see? Mastodon for Android recently (well, the end of October) got an update and introduced Lists.

@ellane Yes, as has been said already (sorry to repeat), one can follow the hashtag and have lots of lovely posts come up in your home feed that one may not have seen otherwise.
But what I'm thinking of, is because I like to curate my intake of content, it would be great if we could add the obsidian tag to one of our #MastodonLists , and then set that list to only show those posts when you are on your list page, but not in your home feed.
I feel like this would free up the home feed a bit more, and allow one to consume certain content at times that are personally more suitable. Like not getting posts about work related topics when I am enjoying my time off for example :P
I do this with news accounts here, so that my feed isn't filled with news but instead with real peoples posts. But I can still pop onto my list page and get the news when I want to.

You know what I'd really love? If we could add hashtags to our lists here on #Mastodon , and not just accounts one already follows.

Has anyone created a good list of accounts that are good to follow for Israel-Palestine + region updates? If so, would you be willing to export the csv file and share it?

Glad you mentioned “lists” - I noticed I don’t have any.
Is there a way you can briefly explain lists here for someone not that well-versed? Thanks!

Perhaps the worst variant of this I’ve been seeing: The you-don’t-actually-want-to-do-A-B-or-C-actually guy.

“There is a clear need for new feature XYZ to address needs A, B, and C.”
“Have you considered this hack-ish workaround that doesn’t event attempt to address A, B, or C?”
Mastodon feature discussion in a nutshell.

Found this step, after a kind Mastodon user let me know that I could export/import lists:
P.S. I found it by going "Edit profile" & finding "Import and export" on the list on the left-hand menu
"Exporting your information
At any time you want, you can go to Settings > Export and download a CSV file for your current followed accounts, your currently created lists, your currently blocked accounts, your currently muted accounts, and your currently blocked domains."

@dgoldsmith
I'd like more functionality for lists - to see the list of members & the ability to share the lists with other Mastodon users

Just realized that lists are actually really useful on #Mastodon! Best way not to loose posts in the blur of the past and keep them together...
My only wish would be if we could make them public and follow other people's lists!
#MastodonTips #MastodonLists -
Okay, tell me the #MastodonApp that let's me manage #MastodonLists membership from the user's page (add or remove to lists), view others' followers even if not on my instance, and (maybe, maybe) search my own posts.

n00b Question Time:
I'm looking at my recently-migrated-to InfoSec.Exchange profile, and I feel like I'm missing something. I have successfully transferred most components of my profile, such as Bookmarks, Followers, etc.
But what I don't know how to transfer over are my Lists, where I had organized those I Follow into various interest-based categories.
Is there a way to manage this, without manually recategorizing and recreating all of my lists from scratch? I tried to the right thing when migrating: I downloaded a .csv of my lists from my old instance, but when I upload it in the Import interface of my new instance, my Lists here remain empty.
I have tried this a small handful of times now, and allowed time, days and days, in fact, in case it just needed to process; There was a message that appeared, saying that the information would be processed in due time, or something to that effect.

Been playing around with lists and found this neat feature where a message comes up 'X has indicated that their new account is....'
You're prevented from adding the old account to a list but you can easily click through to their new profile to add them there.I don't know how it's set up but really useful to be alerted to the latest account given many people are moving instances.
@Gazimoff - this message was on your profile!

I'm having another go at using #MastodonLists so I don't miss posts from people but I had a question and hoping someone knows...
Is it possible to share lists with someone? For example - my Tech list, my News list - at the moment I've created one and named it 'ShomilasList - MastoTips, Tech, News, AI, Funny'.
I can't find a way to do anything other than edit (title and add/remove people), delete list or pin it.
It would be great if personal lists could be available to get started on the #Fediverse quicker. I've enjoyed finding people organically but it could be really useful to have ready made lists of people - made by people you know. Especially as who you follow makes so much difference to the experience. @admin - is the list functionality specific to our instance?
