I just started working on my FUUUUCK bot. It'll be like scream bot, but for FUUUUCK!
It doesn't do anything, yet. I haven't even started coding, just created the account. You're free to follow it, but keep in mind that it might not do anything for a while, and might act strangely when it does. I'll make another announcement when I have things working more or less correctly.

Found that my NAS had updated its Python version a couple of notches since my #mastoBots had last run, and in doing so it had lost some libraries. The underlying Linux OS had been a nice spot to run low-effort scripts in an always-on context.
My random observation bot @randotoot is again working. So there's that.
Further absorbing my old code and hoping to resurrect another my word defining bot which relies on a NYTimes API which may have booted my access by now.

What instances are people using to host mastodon bots? I'm obviously trying to be respectful of instances, so I don't want to pick an instance without checking what everyone else is using. Now botsin.space is dead, I'm out of ideas and Googl-ai ain't helping me.

1. Has anyone written a thread composer app for Mastodon? I need that. I don't write a lot of threads, but when I do I really miss old Twitter's thread composer.
2. I have to admit that I am very popular with the bots of Mastodon. It seems like a lot of my well hashtagged posts get immediate pings but they're always from robots. Is that happening to everybody?

So far @AltTextHealthCheck is the only bot I have built that hasn't really ever broken. And it almost has 500 followers!

Im looking for more bots like @HourlyOtters, that post pictures of various animals on regular intervals.
I'm up for anything, turtles, birds, komodo dragons, whatever.
