Today is a good day. 160 pages and 45k words later, I handed in my #a11y #overlay #MasterThesis. It is quite extensive and combines a technical analysis, user testing and expert interviews.

Not sure what I'm going to do now while I await the grading and defence. Maybe try that "relaxation" everyone is talking about, haven't seen it in a long time. 😶

In an attempt to hand in my #MasterThesis this week, I stayed up until 7 / 8 am over the last four days, evaluating results and writing them up. I feel weird. My body feels funny. It is interesting to see what too little sleep and stress do to your body tho.

However, how long do you think it’s gonna take to get back to a regular sleep schedule? 😬

TIL: The easiest and quickest way to get a Word document out of LaTeX is to compile a PDF and open it in Word. 😶 This destroys the layout a bit, but it is sufficient for my purposes (sending it for proofreading).

I conducted an interview for my #a11y #MasterThesis where the answer to my questions of whether they assure Y or Z is, "Oh yeah, that's so important! We do Y and Z (maybe in the future). It is so important. Good that you mention it (but we need to check if we can and want to actually do that). Thanks for bringing that up! We promote #accessibility." OK 🙄

Finding your way through the maze of portals and processes is a real challenge in the first few semesters. However, the study content is of a much better quality than I would have thought. The last three semesters and the supervision of the master's thesis at the chair "Multimedia and Internet Applications" were excellent.

One of my most exciting findings as part of my master's thesis at @fernunihagen : subjects were asked to categorize newspaper articles. One group received a recommendation from an AI, another group did not. In my research hypothesis, I had assumed that AI-assisted subjects would be significantly faster. It turned out to be exactly the opposite.

The AI recommendation makes the subjects slower.
