  1. Palantir Goes Mask-Off For Fascism. It Won’t End Well.

    techdirt.com/2026/04/20/palant

the company seems to be betting that Trumpist-flavored authoritarianism is a permanent feature of the American political landscape — and that going all-in on it will never, ever have any long-term consequences.…

  2. Fascists say that they are not fascists while quoting fascist and calling anti-fascists fascists: indystar.com/story/news/2023/0

As an Indianapolitan, I denounce these people as not representing the Indianapolis I know. For those who are not aware, Hamilton County contains Carmel, which is the basis for Pawnee in Parks and Recreation.

  3. This is the playbook Rick Snyder ran on #Michigan, although the #racism in the Snyder Doctrine was not as #MaskOff as this. His program was "emergency management" or separation of #democracy and finances. The list of municipalities that ended up under emergency management matched the list of #Black-majority Michigan cities -exactly-.

So fucked. I discovered an interesting study from a few years ago. They were studying the psychological effects of wearing masks, but keep in mind these were consenting adults not wearing them for 8+ hours a day for more than a year. Here's a couple quotes from the study.

in the masked condition, they felt less themselves: e.g. less like a person, felt that there was no ‘me’, felt that they had lost part of their identity, or felt that their personality had changed. It also includes two participants who talked about this transformation more in terms of becoming an-other: i.e. they felt like they had a different identity, like they were ‘a little bit alien’, like they had become ‘a stranger…, somebody else, somebody anonymous’, or like they were ‘someone different’

This was from a study in 1999.
…you do feel a little bit alien, because you know that you appear strange to other people… It made you feel less like a person, that you haven’t got a face, you haven’t got that bit of you which other people see first and quite often recognise you by, so it sort of takes away a bit of your identity, and—I dunno…

You can check out the full article here, along with a download to the study. I also go over why post oximetry isn't a good indication of whether or not someone is suffocating themselves.

That’s insane. Putting masks on children in general is a horrible thing. This article i wrote goes over quite a bit of the psychological effects of wearing a mask, from data of a study of many adults wearing them.

I also go over the misinformation regarding pulse oximetry and why this does nothing to determine if your suffocating or not.

I highly recommend this article for anyone, especially if you sometimes wear masks or if you have children. The study i reference is incredibly informative and really interesting.
