#MaskBans & #MaskMandates are both violations of the universal human right of bodily autonomy.
They're also both problems of #DisabilityAccesssibility & safety, because the way that disability accessibility accomodations are asked for & given is that the people harmed by the mandate, whom are also among the most vulnerable & weakest in our society, are those required to self advocate for said accomodations & most often loose those battles, not over lacking need but lacking power.

My disabled child was denied life saving medical supplies for a month and a half due to my refusal to take her to unmasked appointments for care. They have an upper airway restriction and cannot safely mask. This is eugenics and abled supremacy at work. CW: Covid, Lucira tests, a follow-up rant/asking for advice
Following up again on my issues with #Lucira #covid tests. I think I have an answer! Several other #CovidCautious people I know told me they've had problems with #LuciraTests expiring in Oct. 22, 2023, and since those expiration dates haven't been extended, they think that the tests are just too close to expiring to work properly.
It's frustrating that despite what we're told, we don't have the tools to manage #covid19, at least not on our own as individuals—we don't have easily accessible and reliable tests, we don't have vaccines that prevent illness and transmission, and we don't have #MaskMandates or #PaidSivkLeave in the US. Now one of the few tools I thought I had—Lucira tests—are also becoming unreliable and inaccessible. But it's comforting to know at least the issue was with the tests and that I wasn't doing something wrong, other than expecting the test to work up until their expiration dates 🙄

I’ve been thinking about the nasty comments I saw yesterday on Twitter when someone described their attempts to seek safe medical treatment. They were #Immunocompromised. #MaskMandates were cancelled at the hospital.
The #DumpsterFire:
Doctors, #MedicalStaff refused to #mask, even if it could save the life of their patients.
Bystanders and twitter replies were hostile, called out the disabled patient for being not-normal, weak, demanding.
Commenters used logical fallacies, distracting arguments to make their points on how the patient’s health was not important enough to rate any consideration.So pointing out the benefits, the mortality, the simplicity of masking to protect someone didn’t work. I wonder what #SocialComparison may have helped. “Most people…” “People in your community are…” “The smartest folk…”
