Autant, je connaissais Martin Parr, mais j'ai quand même été surpris par la qualité de ses tirages, souvent en grand format, avec les couleurs saturées dans un décor coloré, et c'est vraiment superbe. Et à voir une belle série N&B de vieilles voirutes irlandaises. Superbe !
Autant, je ne connaissais pas la photographe sudafricaine Jo Ractliffe et... j'ai adoré ! Ses tirages gélatino-argentiques N&B sont absolument magnifiques et les sujets abordés intéressants (pour moi).
Bref, c'est jusqu'au 25 mai.

I once had a conversation with a very pleasant photographer named Martin during a speakers’ dinner at a conference. It wasn’t until the next day, when he began his presentation, that I realized he was the legendary #MartinParr, whose fantastic work I admired. I have never forgiven myself for this mishap.

Martin Parr nos ha dejado. Es tremendo como los que han sido referentes para nuestra generación, se nos van yendo.
Parr, se hizo famoso con sus primeros planos y colores saturados, su toque británico, satírico y sus especial visión sobre sus temas preferidos, como el turismo de masas o el consumismo.
Trabajó para la Agencia Magnum, durante años y fue su director entre 2013 y 2017.
Espero que allá donde esté siga manteniendo esa mirada suya tan especial.
Descanse en paz.

De Britse fotograaf Martin Parr is op 73-jarige leeftijd overleden. Dat heeft de Martin Parr Foundation zondag namens zijn familie op de website gemeld. Parr overleed zaterdag in Bristol.

Am Donnerstagabend wurde diese Ausstellung hier eröffnet. Für mich auf vielen Ebenen beglückend - und noch bis zum Februar 2026 zu sehen.
Ungewöhnliche Objekte (Fotobücher), ungewöhnliches Ausstellungsdesign (ein Hotel!), toller Zuspruch … und ein offenbar zufriedener Martin Parr. - Well done!
