We are now ruled by strutting little empty-headed and empty-souled peacock men arrested in adolescence, puffing out their chests and feathers to make us imagine they're as big as the universe.
But we see, those of us with eyes open. We see who and what they are.

Bouie notes how Zuckerberg now imagines he can project masculinity by adopting symbols of coarse masculinity appropriate to a teen or very young man, not a grown man:

When Zuckerberg speaks of 'masculine energy' and 'aggression,' he seems to be imagining the 'masculinity' of an older teenager or a younger adult."

Jamelle Bouie notes that Zuckerberg whines about how corporate leaders are being emasculated when a large majority of corporate executives are men. In Zuckerberg's Silicon Valley world, women are very much a minority. About 25% of tech jobs are held by women and only 4.7% of Silicon Valley150 companies have a female CEO, with roughly 6% of companies in the S&P 500 with women CEOs.
