Iron Lung undersells itself
Watching the trailer of Markiplier's Iron Lung movie made a certain type of impression on me. The movie is obviously low budget. The set looks hilarious ( outside of the context or the source material ). And shot choices look rather amateurish. Watching Iron Lung itself, on the other hand, makes me believe that Mark Fischbach ( Markiplier ), the writer and director of this movie, had a cinematic Ace up his sleeve. And he was just playing the long game.

Just came back from watching Iron Lung. Took my small local theater a few weeks extra to get the chance to show it, and I'm so glad they did. That was amazing. It's rare that I go to the cinema and I sit there with a feeling of "please don't be over anytime soon", especially for a movie going over 2h. I'm just not that big into movies compared to some of my friends.
Anyway, love what they did with it. I did watch Mark play the game beforehand, so I knew the general idea of it, but they expanded on it too (had to be expected for them to get a 2h movie out of a 40m game). It still felt really authentic to the game experience.
When the movie was over everyone in the audience sat still throughout the entire credits. We were all hoping for a post credit scene. Sadly there wasn't any. I feel like it was such a missed opportunity to not include that one major end-of-game jumpscare from the game. Just put that one last scene directly from the game as an after credit scene. Would be cool.

#Markiplier is a very good director, but the movie suffers from a slow start. It poses you with more questions than answers, but most payoffs are well executed.
It's impressive for a movie that only happens inside a claustrophobic submarine in a sea of blood.
I'll give it a 8/10. It's a good movie to see on cinema, but I feel it was 20~30 minutes too much.

I watched Iron Lung a few days ago! It was a good movie and I really enjoyed it. The Blood, the gore and just the feeling that nothing would habe made the Situation better. #Markiplier played his role well - especially for somebody who is more used to represent himself on social media. For his first "real" movie he hit the right notes and made a fitting hommage for the game he loves.
I would give it a 7,5 out of 10 submarines
