On #MasterSystemMonday here’s “My Hero”. Originally released in Japanese arcades as “Seishun Scandal” in 1985, this beat-em-up was ported to #Sega #MarkIII & #MasterSystem in 1986. I’ve covered the cartridge version of this game but this is the earlier card release.

On #MasterSystemMonday here’s “Cyborg Hunter”. This is a 1989 action game developed by #Sega R&D2. It’s actually a reskinned version of the Japanese #MarkIII game “Chouon Senshi Borgman”. It’s one of the few #MasterSystem games that requires 2 controllers to play.

#TodaysArrival: Another post Christmas treat for myself is this Japanese #Sega BH-400 Bike Handle Controller for the SG-1000, SC-3000, #MarkIII or #MasterSystem.

#TodaysArrival: The Black Onyx is a dungeon crawling RPG for the #Sega SG-1000 & SC-3000. It also works on the #MarkIII.
It was the final official game released for the system in 1987.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how cool the #MarkIII version of R-Type looks?

Space Harrier Theme on Japanese Master System Hardware
Fact 1: the Japanese version of the Master System had an add on that provided FM synthesis sound synthesis, and greatly improved its music. Many US-released games have support for the add-on, but it was never released over here so that featur

Romhack Thursday: Snail Maze in a Cartridge
Early Sega Master System units released in the US had a small game included on the system ROM. It's not as cool as the Space Harrier music with FM synthesis included on some Japanese Mark III units, but it's at least a playable game.Snail Maze, a really

This means that the SC-3000 is possibly the best way to play SG-1000 games.
(Yes, the #MarkIII can play these games and outputs RGB but the colour palette is not always displayed correctly.)
To play an SG-1000 game you simply plug it in the cartridge port and turn it on, same as the consoles. It’s possible to play using the keyboard but it’s not recommended.
It’s interesting to note that the SC-3000 will not work without a cartridge plugged in.

#TodaysArrival is a copy of the “Early Sega Perfect Catalogue”, which covers the entirety of #Sega’s 8-bit line in Japan - hardware and software.
This is basically a shopping list!

The cartridge slot is less wide but more deep to take the different size cartridges the #MarkIII uses.
Also, instead of reset, there’s a “Rapid” button, which I assume enables rapid fire.

Testing out the new Helios lens with my friend’s cat, Dickens. I love it so much and Dickens is so photogenic. I can’t wait to make use of its swirly bokeh

Yesterday I got to capture the morning with Pittsburgh’s first snowfall of Winter 2022! Actually… I woke up to get the sunrise, but it was a bit of a bust. Im happy with the Consolation prize was the first snowfall that stuck.
