Mark Ashton was a fearless activist for LGBTQ+ and workers’ rights. As co-founder of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), he built solidarity between oppressed communities, showing the power of unity.
Tragically, he passed away from AIDS on 11 Feb 1987, aged 26. But his impact on LGBTQ+ rights, trade unions, and equality endures. When we stand together, we win together.
