RMS Windsor Castle (launched 1921) served the Union-Castle Line on mail and passenger routes to South and East Africa. Requisitioned in WWII as a troopship, she was sunk by German aircraft near Algeria in 1943.

This was an unforgettable morning and a unique scene that will never happen again. The John B Aird lake freighter was decommissioned in 2017 (this photo is from 2007). Also, I was at the Soo Locks before 6 am to capture this shot, but visitors are no longer allowed to enter the park before 9 am.
