She's got more brass and class than the person she confronted.

From the aticle: "The Right Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde, Episcopal Bishop of Washington, stepped into the national spotlight last week with a sermon delivered at the National Prayer Service in Washington National Cathedral. Last Tuesday, under the soaring Gothic arches of the historic cathedral, Budde’s voice resonated with a calm yet unyielding tone, calling for compassion and unity in the face of policies that have marginalized LGBTQ+ people and immigrants. Her words were measured and deliberate."

> Libraries and archives hold a special kind of magic, especially in an age when historical memory is eroded by an avalanche of information, the unceasing churn of emotional overload, and a culture entrapped by what #ByungChulHan calls “the immediate presence.”

Although our mission is to send BOOKS to prisoners, sometimes we also send loose paper. For example, during the early days of the pandemic, when lockdowns had cut off our usual source of books, a volunteer responded to a request for Christian books by printing a few sermons by #BishopBudde and sending those. One recipient was so grateful for the bishop's wisdom that he created artwork consisting of Bible verses starting with each letter of the bishop's name.

As an RC (retired christian), I hope all the Christians of the world read this message from the Episcopal bishop of Washington and take it to heart. I believe it represents the best of what Christianity can be and do for humankind.

From the article: "I decided to ask him as gently as I could to have mercy," Budde, the Episcopal bishop of Washington, said of her plea to Trump, telling All Things Considered, "how dangerous it is to speak of people in these broad categories, and particularly immigrants, as all being criminals or transgender children somehow being dangerous."
