Speaking about #MatthewShepard: Did you know, that Mariann Edgar Budde, the diocese's first female bishop, who made headlines for speaking at #DonaldTrump's inauguration, much to the president's dislike, presided over the interment of the ashes of Matthew Shepard, at the cathedral in 2018, together with Gene Robinson, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop?

Although our mission is to send BOOKS to prisoners, sometimes we also send loose paper. For example, during the early days of the pandemic, when lockdowns had cut off our usual source of books, a volunteer responded to a request for Christian books by printing a few sermons by #BishopBudde and sending those. One recipient was so grateful for the bishop's wisdom that he created artwork consisting of Bible verses starting with each letter of the bishop's name.
