  1. Another Guest we are delighted to welcome back to the 2026 Convention is... Marc Burrows!

Marc is an author, comic and musician who burst onto the Discworld fandom in 2020 when he published the award-winning biography The Magic of Terry Pratchett. Since then, he has written and performed a one-man show based on his love for Terry Pratchett, which he has since toured worldwide.

I love his comment “If you know nothing about Terry Pratchett, you'll learn about a life that really, truly meant something”

  3. Had a wonderful afternoon at a show called ‘The Magic of Terry Pratchett’ at our local comedy club, The Stand (Newcastle). Big, big fan of the #Discworld books and Sir Terry in general, but the host Marc Burrows was new to me. So glad I went - such a heartfelt, delightful and funny show. I will be buying his book too.

    He urged us to ‘continue to speak Terry’s name’ which I loved ❤️ #literature #comedy #TerryPratchett #MarcBurrows

  5. "One of the main themes – perhaps the main theme – of Pratchett’s huge body of work is that ultimately your life is your own; that no one can tell you what to think or who to be. There is a burning fury at injustice at the heart of his best writing, and it’s always fuelled by the policing of someone else’s agency. The very worst sin, as Granny Weatherwax herself says in 1999’s Carpe Jugulum, is to 'treat people like things'."

  6. With the #EdinburghFringe getting ever closer (the press launches start next week), my #EdFringe #Podcast continues to preview some of the 2023 shows.

This week, I chat to long-time friend of the podcast parish #MarcBurrows on his three #Edinburgh shows, the importance of #TerryPratchett's footnotes, and the relaxing nature of stand-up.
