  1. Some positive ways to cope with being a #MAP in a hostile world that have helped for me:

    - Seek out information about MAPs (mapresources.info/ is an excellent starting point)
    - If you have feelings of guilt or shame, try practicing #SelfCompassion (see for example programs.clearerthinking.org/p)
    - Get involved with online MAP communities (such as NNIA!) and talk about your story
    - Get support from friends and family, which might require coming out to them (which is a topic for another toot)
    - If you think you could benefit from therapy, try to find a good therapist who knows about MAP issues
    - Help out other MAPs you know online or in person, especially ones who are struggling
    - Help building and expanding online MAP communities in whatever way you can
    - Advocate for MAP rights, if you can do so safely
