Another reason I hate the idea of asserting that looting and rioting is the same as a racial uprising is because to me there’s a definite line of demarcation between whites rioting and looting to destroy successful Black neighborhoods and businesses and Black folks acting in equal and opposite force of the devaluing of Black life. #ManyRiversPBS #BlackMastodon #BlackFediverse #BlackFedi #BlackHistoryMonth

I often wonder who I would be if I was raised in the southeast. As a defiant, pro black child who questioned authority and was extremely precocious, the urge of a parent to “humble” their child to keep them safe from white supremacy would’ve been overwhelming I’m sure. #ManyRiversPBS #BlackMastodon #BlackFediverse #BlackFedi #BlackHistoryMonth
