Here I report on a study about training dogs. Do any of the methods outlined work for cats?

Kinda. But certainly not the way they "work" for dogs.

That is because cat training... isn't. The popular conception of "training" is that we tell the being what to do and they do it.

Because if they don't do it, we will make things unpleasant for them.

This doesn't work for cats. I don't like it either.
