So, ich hab mir jetzt #mangowm unter #Debian #Trixie gebaut - ich musste zwar den ganzen Wayland-Stack und wlroots dafür neu bauen, weil unter Debain dafür alles zu alt ist, aber das ging recht flott. Für solche Bauanleitungen sind LLM recht nützlich. Die Ausführungen der Kommandos mache ich aber noch selbst - da lasse ich keine Agenten ran.

oh, yeah, forgot to mention that I'm still on mango and it's awesome! have been scrolling for more than a week now and I absolutely love how intuitive it is. and "fair" layout for the side screen so that I can see all windows side-by-side.
though, it doesn't like negative coordinates for some reason. I had my
eDP-1on-1920 60and apps like discord or krita didn't work on it, but they were fine onDP-20 0. I've moved both displays virtually by 1920 to the right and everything works now.the only actual issue I'm still having is nautilus (apparently thunar as well) sometimes loses connection to the wayland compositor, no idea how to replicate it crashing.
other than that, no notes, just skill issues :mikupc:

Ich bin ein rießen #yazi Fan. Ich hätte nie gedacht, daß ein #cli Tool so großartig funktioniert!
Aber keine andere Software macht so viel Probleme beim Updaten. Liegt aber halt an den vielen Plugins - die nicht so schnell mitziehen, wie das Hauptprogramm.
Konnte per llm die meisten Probleme glattbügeln. Nur das Bookmark Plugin von Maomao (übrigens der Macher von #mangowm ) klappt nicht. Werde ich nach einer adäquaten Alternative Ausschau halten.https://github.com/AnirudhG07/awesome-yazi

I found my cousin's old netbook with 2 GB of RAM and decided to install Linux on it with #mangowm, and I'm impressed by this thing, still running basic task browsing, office work, watching videos, even simple code.

Kann ich bestätigen, was kürzlich bei #distrowatch ("poor experience") berichtet wurde. Versuchte #d77void #mangowm edition zu installieren, aber der calamares Installer stieg mit Fehlermeldung aus.

First workday today with FreeBSD as the main system, running Mango WM on the Dell Inspiron 7300, with hybrid graphics.
Very important note to myself: think in solutions, not problems. Rethink and it'll work for you. and RTF Handbook!
No easy bluetooth? All my devices have at least one radio dongle (Dell kb mouse combo) or analog cable (Edifier MR3). The Linuxies are perfectly fine running all that with BT. So switch the 'old' core to your BSD machine. FreeBSD is blessed with an excellent Wayland stack, so mango, fuzzel, waypaper, wdisplays, nwg-look etc etc are all available. And that one 'unmissable' Linux app? They have a web interface also. No Linuxalators necessary. Great!

Getting there. Obviously I had a headstart running it on Slackware. And FreeBSD has the best Wayland wm repos, bar none. Also: gnarly things in FreeBSD: bluetooth, how to get that Linux application running, Linuxalators et al, sound and keymappings. But the Handbook is superb, just work my way through it over the days.

Really happy the name was changed to mangowm (from mangowc).
Next step: xoàiwm (mango in Vietnamese). Now that's a name 😜

okay `toggleglobal` is pretty neat!
It lets you have a window on all tags (workspaces/desktops). This works pretty well for video players!Also `center_tile` is pretty useful. I think to solve the lack of tabs, i will just have to use more tags.
