  1. Hey #Manchester queers! After #ManchesterPride went all corporate and bankrupted itself, this year we have Manchester Village Pride, organised by a new nonprofit promising to bring #Pride back to the community.

Weekend tickets are much more affordable, but they also go up at the end of the month, so grab them while it's still July from skiddle.com/festivals/manchest

  2. Cute pups at Pride are always the real highlight of the day! So many boopable snoots and scrtichable floops ❤️

  3. Just had my shower. Knee feeling OK. I'll be heading to #ManchesterPride for an hour or two later on. I'll be getting the tram down to Piccadilly Station. Expected to be busier than usual because as well as Pride (including the Parade), there is also womens rugby and the fash are expected. I'd avoid Piccadilly Gardens until the fash have gone.

Watching "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" with @bright_helpings as part of Scene Festival.

  5. Happy Manchester Pride to anybody going to watch the parade today. Advice is to get there early as it can be four deep along the whole route on both sides of the street.

If you don't want a wristband for the overpriced pop concert, then Community Lane (Chorlton Street) has all the stalls and is free. Community Lane is 200 yards from Piccadilly Tram and Train station.

  6. It's #ManchesterPride this weekend. I'm not up for paying £££ to drink overpriced beer in crowded bars at the best of times, let alone during a pandemic. So I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing to celebrate queerness this weekend.

OTOH I'm celebrating queerness when I'm sat on the sofa playing video games, so there is that.

  7. Two days running, the weather forecast says it's going to be a nice day with pleasant temperatures. That's good for the Manchester Pride Parade, and the events that take place all over the Bank Holiday weekend at Pride. #ManchesterPride

  8. Great day at Manchester Pride watching the parade. So proud of the Wife helping to represent Girl Guiding UK as a LGBTQIA+ ally.

  9. 5. Change is afoot! Manchester Pride is moving towards more walkers and fewer floats - apparently for environmental reasons. I've no real view, as long as it remains a good show with lots of creative and exciting groups mixed in with the more everyday ones. #LGBT #LGBTQ #LGBTQIA #ManchesterPride

  10. 3. For the first time, I marched with my company rather than the Lib Dems this year. No particular reason: I had two offers and fancied a change. I had a great time, our group was organised by LGBT+ employees and - rightly - my employer paid £££ to be in the parade.

    4. I'm always bowled over by the amount of effort some people put into their Pride costumes. Just amazing dedication!

  11. 5 thoughts on today's Manchester Pride Parade

    1. I love being in the Parade. This was my fifth time marching and it seems to get bigger every year. The entire 2km route was lined with crowds 5 or 6 deep on both sides of the road. That's a lot of people. Not bad for introvert me!

    2. A lot of marchers too - about 250 different groups, perhaps 5,000 people on the parade. The marchers filled not just the field in Castlefield but the bowl too.

  12. Wishing a happy Manchester Pride to those attending today!

  13. Four days to the #ManchesterPride parade so time for more photos of Prides past. These are from 2015.
