Next week, I'm speaking at #Saintcon about #phishing, #smishing, #quishing (all the -ishings) and propose a broad-based possible solution that could end this problem forever. Nothing big.
If you're going to be there, you can find me in Track 2 at 2:30pm, or most of the rest of the time at the @SAINTCON @malwarevillage Community, where we will be hosting two of our contests (MARC I and BOMBE) and encouraging people to consider the field of malware analysis and threat research as a career.
We also will have minibadges, both at #MalwareVillage and at the #Netcraft booth. If you're a #minibadge fan/collector, you aren't going to want to miss out on the Netcraft minibadge, which is awesome. Just drop by the booth to get a kit to build one. Tell them Spike sent ya.
Until then, stay safe, and please tell everyone you know, don't click links to tax refunds or toll road fees you get on your phone.

Happy birthday to...us! 🎂
Today, May Day 2025, World Cyber Health, the parent organization of #MalwareVillage, officially became incorporated in Canada as a not-for-profit organization.
What this means is that, soon, we will be able to begin fundraising to pay for our operations, which include Malware Village, but also several other important projects that focus on training the next generation of malware analysts, and helping victims of cybercrime.
Until those mechanisms are set up, you can support the organization and its efforts by purchasing #malmons embroidered patches from our swag store. MV and WCH founder Lena Yu created these unique characters to represent malware families.

We're looking forward to seeing many of you at upcoming conferences, including DEF CON 33. Our call for presentations is open until midnight UTC May 25. Submit your proposal soon!

I am proud to announce that I have been invited to join the board of World Cyber Health, the parent organization of the #MalwareVillage (proposed at #DEFCON 33, coming soon to a #BSides or other conferences near you). Malware Village will host talks, contests, and workshops to educate and encourage more people to join the malware analysis field.
I continue to work to support those inside and outside the cybersecurity community with a spinoff WCH project called NO HAVOC (https://no-havoc.org/), a cybersecurity "911" service where cybercrime victims can be directed to support services in their region of the world.
We are here to rescue us. Nobody else is going to save us.
