First sighting of a pair of ducks this year.
I had seen the male and the female earlier but today is the first time that I saw them together. I approached carefully to say 'hello' and supply a little more breakfast, expecting them to be shy initially. They weren't - both were supremely relaxed with me and confident.
They are also used to me pointing the camera at them.
We know each other well from previous years.

More garden wildlife: A female duck in one of the two sunken water features on the patio. I supplied breakfast, she went to the pond for a swim afterwards.
Water must be the single most important thing to attract wildlife to a garden.

This morning, first sighting of a pair of #ducks this year. They were familiar with the layout of the #garden and knew the facilities, #pond and birdfood, etc. I have no doubt that they have been here in previous years. They were a little wary of me still. They are perfectly wild and not used to humans. Will need time to get re-acquainted with me but it won't take them long. Eventually, they will let me get close and may come up to me.
