  10. A new-to-me product at work. An engineer sends a first draft of a doc for me to edit and wrestle into shape for publishing.

I do a first-pass dev edit and ask some clarifying questions.

The engineer responds to two of my questions in ways that REALLY doesn't clarify anything. So I respond to the first one with a suggested edit that I'm pretty sure is not what they meant...just so that they'll actually be forced to clarify things further so that I can rewrite those phrases so that they're both concise, but also very clear. #MaliciousCompliance

  21. Companies showin some real audacity having contact forms that can't be submitted without including both an email AND a valid* phone number.

To bypass this, I've simply started pasting in their own company phone number — just a silly little act of #MaliciousCompliance (as a treat)! :neocat_knife:

  30. Nobody is asking you to break the law. Nobody is implying that you even hypothetically _might_ break the law. But we _are_ trying to make it clear that you can always not break the law in a way that clearly communicates how stupid the law is and how little interest you have in complying with the spirit of the law, or with anything more than the bare minimum that the letter of the law requires.

People have been half-assing compliance for as long as compliance has been a thing. Do some research, talk to a lawyer, and then build only the half of the ass necessary to keep lawsuits off your back.
