I haven't given you all an update on the rainbow shawl, which sadly didn't make it to a pride this season, in a while. Well, next year...
Possibly also of interest to the #ScribesAndMakers and #MakersHour folks as this is the project I've mentioned every so often.

@MakersHour Probably a calendar so I would realise it is not in fact Wednesday and I then might not have missed #MakersHour tonight!

@MakersHour Q5: If you had just £10 budget for materials what would you make?
#MakersHour
So many of my makes cost fractions of pennies! £10 is a dream budget. Here’s a hand sewn miniature shirt I have been working on. Just needs buttons. #HandSewing #DollsHouse #No52 -

@MakersHour Q5: low-budget make
A5: I think I'd spend the money on a tool and then use the tool to make something with materials already in stock.
I'm unfortunately bad at low-budget builds. But I do accumulate too much, and so do turn to what I have in-stock a lot. And idea for soon (this weekend?) is about $40USD in new materials, but will be mostly left-overs from other projects.

@Stratski @MakersHour texture & weave matters a lot to me in fabrics. Both buying ready-made and fabrics for things I make myself.
Bonus for things that are both a look and texture like herringbone weaves

@MakersHour Q4: What unusual sources of inspiration do you have?
#MakersHour
A4 I don’t think any of my sources of inspiration are unusual - I like designers, fashion history, material culture … just the usual stuff. -

@MakersHour Q4: Unusual Inspiration?
A4: "Who knows where thoughts come from, they just appear" - Lucas, "Empire Records"
I'm really not sure what a lot of my inspiration is. It's all a very circuitous route from seeing something to it inspiring something else. So everything can be inspiration.

@MakersHour Q3: real magic?
A3: teleporting? Though that one is also pretty scary philosophically if it's a disassemble & reassemble sort of thing...
Self-cleaning kitchen and bathroom? (that feels less like magic though)
Related to magic, I like that the magic in Witch Hat Atelier is closer to code than magic - I like the idea of deterministic, editable and understandable magic.
