CW: Sexualizing Men in Games
This video offers a lot of context as to why men are not sexualized in games as much as women are. I mean some of it is intuitive because of the audience which is pandered to; it is assumed that most players are straight men that want to see women in sexualized, vulnerable, and suggestive situations/poses.
Most gaming leading men are depicted in a way that is more aspirational than sexualized. As straight men don't desire other men carnally, so they only see the homosocial aspect of other men.
Some men make MASSIVE assumptions about what women find attractive and fumble the bag with garbage hot takes when the poll results do not agree with their "this is what women want" train of thought.
As they are confused that women are individuals that have different preferences and don't just act/think like some men believe they will. OMG the amount of dudes that are confused about women not minding or finding dad bods hot...It could power all the electronic devices on Earth for centuries! Like, bros don't assume the desires of women (as you are men, you should ask questions and want genuine answers only).
This is honestly a fascinating video that has me in a stranglehold. I hope to improve my ability to discuss the topic
