“With a few exceptions, Lwaxana’s dresses have exaggerated proportions, such as 1890s-style “leg-o-mutton” sleeves, voluminous pleated skirts, capes or trains, and are usually made from metallic or brightly-colored fabrics.
Historically, women who dress too boldly or vibrantly have been considered “vulgar,” but this criticism usually boils down to women taking up space, either physically or visually. From the metre-wide, heavily embellished court gowns of the 1750s, and the crinolines and vividly-dyed dresses of the 1850s, to the big shoulder pads and bold prints of the 1980s, taste-makers have balked at women who want to be looked at on their own terms, and Lwaxana proudly continues this tradition into the 24th century.”

Although disappointingly it still fails to credit Majel for her accomplishments, as her husband Gene was credited for his, at least it now it scrapes up the bare minimum of saying her name:

She has a name! It's Majel Barrett. I credit Gene Roddenberry's creativity originating the series … but Majel Barrett will always be 100% more loveable and memorable. Just ask Odo.
Please don't gloss over the impressive achievements of amazing women like Majel Barrett as though they're merely accessories to more noteworthy men.

#MajelBarrett (1932-2008) would have been 91 today.
She played Christine Chapel on #StarTrekTOS, Lwaxana Troi on #TNG and #DS9 + the voice of the computer in #AllStarTrek.
She was also the wife of creator #GeneRoddenberry.
