In this gathering we present the last issue of the online-magazine migrazine "Drafting Hope, Creating Counter-Narratives” in which we took part in search for models of life, community and values that promote the emancipation from technology monopolies as well as our capacity for a political digital engagement. Intervening with counter-narratives, creating alternative uses and spaces for technologies, as well as building relationships that inspire empathy and generosity were some of the forms of (re)existence in a hyper-digitalized life that we gathered to tackle this issue.

Together with the authors Aimilia Liountou and Mary Maggic we will go through two of the published texts: respectively, the sociopolitical development of emojis in the global cultural sphere, and “Workshopology” as practice and research methodology for artists and interdisciplinary collaborations.

We invite activists, authors, artists, editors and general public to an evening full of playful, creative exchange on hegemonic digital infrastructure and possible ways to overcome them - acknowledging our contradictions at hand. 

This event will be held in English.

These workshopologies center ecological crisis as the starting point for embodying our permeability and vulnerability, informed by what our collectives and lands already know and feel. With this participatory practice, Maggic constantly searches for new embodied strategies for dissolving the boundaries between the personal and the planetary, and entering into new modalities of collective world-making.

Im Rahmen des Projekts “Erzählungen für die Transformation” organisieren wir das Webinar "Imagining Spaces for a Decolonisation of Technology" für alternative, widerständige Positionen im digitalen Raum. In diesem Online-Austausch kommen wir zusammen, um Formen des Intervenierens, der Emanzipation und der Schaffung von Beziehungen und Gegennarrativen zu träumen, die Empathie und Großzügigkeit als Formen des Überlebens und der (Wieder-)Existenz in einem hyperdigitalisierten Leben inspirieren.

As part of the project “Erzählungen für die Transformation” (“Stories for Transformation”), we are hosting the webinar "Imagining Spaces for a Decolonisation of Technology" on alternatives positions of resistance in the digital space. Luiza Prado (Brazil/Germany) is an artist, writer and scholar. Her practice explores relations and knowledge between plants, political infrastructures, and technology, engaging with collective concerns around themes of environmental care and reproductive justice. She holds a PhD from the University of the Arts Berlin, and an MA from the University of the Arts Bremen.

Rebecca Ryakitimbo (DRC) is a feminist technologist and researcher working at the intersection of AI, language data, gender justice, and digital equity. She has led community-driven initiatives like the Community-Based Wildlife Network, held fellowships with Google, Mozilla, and the Internet Society, and supports feminist tech spaces such as the African Women School of AI and curates the Gendering AI conference. As part of LocNet, she supports CCCIs by facilitating Communities of Practice, and researching community-centered connectivity and local services for equitable, locally-led digital ecosystems.

Por si no sabéis qué hacer con tanta #ColChina en los #LunesDeCestas, aquí una receta sencilla que tal vez conozcáis. La ensalada china. 🤗

Como ingredientes básicos lleva la propia col china, #zanahoria, #agar-agar y según las fuentes, jamón de York o gambas. Pero en caso vegano podéis añadir otro ingrediente al gusto.
Se puede acompañar también de #maíz y unos brotes.

Y lo que le da la gracia diferenciadora es el famoso aliño blanco. Que consiste en un vaso de azúcar, otro de vinagre de arroz, dos cucharadas de aceite, no de oliva que es muy fuerte para esto, y una de sal.
Con las variaciones que cada cuál ajusta a su gusto.
Y eso sí, un buen rato de batidora o similar, para que quede bien blanquito.
