  1. MainsailOS v3.0.0 is out!

    - Debian Trixie (Debian 13) base
    - cloud-init: configure hostname, user, WiFi & SSH via the Raspberry Pi Imager on EVERY image, Armbian included
    - Crowsnest v5 (Pynest) shipped by default

Major release, so we recommend a fresh flash.

  6. 🚀 MainsailOS v2.2.2 is out now!

A small but important maintenance release is here:

🛠️ Fixed a CANBUS issue introduced by the new Raspberry Pi Kernel v6.12.47

📦 Updated base image paths to use oldstable (Bookworm) to keep builds stable and compatible.

💡 If you’re wondering what happened to v2.2.1 — that one didn’t make it past internal testing due to a base image config issue. Fixed now! ✅

  22. Ok, now I'm doing this #klipper thing the hard way after all. Installed #MainsailOS on a #RaspberryPi 3B, generated the firmware for the S1 Pro and managed to flash it after 10 attempts. Mounted an S2DW to configure input shaping (had to generate firmware for that too - it has a RasPi 2040 chip onboard), leveled the bed and set up a webcam for time-lapses. Not too bad for one long evening! Now I just need to tweak everything so I can reap the speed benefits of Klipper!

  31. I chose #Raspbian OS lite to get a fresh, fast, and clean #RadpberryPi. It was not only recommended, but I wanted to use #KIAUH ratger than using #MainsailOS.

This gave me more storage space, and I also knew what was already installed.

This also solved one of my problems when I used #Klipper with #Octoprint and #OctoKlipper.

I had a "mcu error," which I never could get a solution for. I had to restart my printer and Klipper repeatedly until they finally would connect.

This was solved by following the #Mainsail and #KIAUH docs and installing the Raspberry Pi MCU firmware.

    These problems are now solved.

And damn, is this blazing fast.

Although I did clean my fan and heatsink and decided to #overclock my Raspberry Pi, the UI is so responsive I can live without my printer screen.

  38. We found a bug in #MainsailOS. The WIFI power management was not deactivated in v1.0.0, which can result in WIFI issues. That's why we have just #MainsailOS v1.0.1.

This error can lead to problems for some. But we still recommend everyone apply the patch to fix #MainsailOS.

    How to fix it?
Run: curl -sSL raw.githubusercontent.com/main | bash

This will also bump your #MainsailOS to v1.0.1 and should be visible in the System Panel in #Mainsail.
