Probably because I don't actually speak Japanese but I was today years old when I realized that Derakkuma from #maimai is a pun on "deluxe" (as in maimai DX) because they both start with 「でらっく」 - "derakkusu" + "kuma". This also explains why SilentBlue.RemyWiki romanizes his name as "Delu-Kuma".

if you're this desperate to move away from discord but you consider guild system essential, try hopping on root and see if it's your thing

if you're looking for E2EE and decentralization then scroll, that's not it
while it's in its infancy, imo it has ok foundation to be the more "normie" alternative; there's screensharing and VCs already, unfortunately no custom emojis/stickers (yet)

there's some issues with TOS but the devs clarified it will be officially rewritten - people got scared about "no porn" but it has been addressed that's not the case and it will be yoten from the guidelines

Well I went to an arcade in my city that I haven’t been to in years and it hurt my soul a little bit I was told they got a new #dancedancerevolution machine and had a game like #maimai now so I went to check it out and these are what I saw the Mai Mai game is dance cube and it hurts to play it’s also one credit and keep going until you fail so I played 9 songs in a row and easy mode will send 400+ - 600+ notes at you regardless it’s so chaotic I got number 1 on the dance cube machine though!!!!!
