Ok I managed to stop the Mail app from trying to download all the mail by changing Gmail IMAP settings to limit folder sizes to 1,000 messages, but I'm not sure what this means in the long run.

This also still doesn't explain why the Mail app was trying to download 78K when my actual "All mail" count in Gmail is less.

This is so annoying. My Mac Mail app keeps trying to download 78K messages from my Gmail account and I deleted a ton of old bulk mail and got it down to 30K but even after deleting/re-adding the account on the Mac/Mail app, each time it still tries to download 78K messages. Wtf. I also deleted ~/Library/Mail/MailData/ExternalUpdates* but it's still doing it.

For some reason, the Mail app on my Mac isn't showing all of my email. I've checked every setting I can think of, made sure everything looks correct, restarted the computer, and I'm still missing messages that show up just fine on my iPhone.
One thing I noticed is that VoiceOver keeps announcing "Primary." Does the Mail app on macOS have some kind of inbox categorization that could be hiding messages? Has anyone else run into this or found a fix?

Anyone know if there are any tricks to avoid hi-res images blowing up the entire email when you use the Mac Mail app? Every time I embed a big image and send it to someone, by the time it comes back in a response, it messes up the entire email so much and doesn't fit the images to the viewport.

Maybe I need to start using a different email cIient?

Also als #MailApp für #Android kann ich guten Gewissens #FairEmail empfehlen.

Gibt es auch über #F-Droid zu beziehen, einige Funktionen sind aber kostenpflichtig. Dafür bekommt man aber eine from Scratch entwickelte sehr umfangreiche MailApp mit Fokus auf Datenschutz und Sicherheit.

Apple udostępnił nowy wygląd aplikacji Poczta w testowej wersji macOS 15.4. Z ciekawości chciałem zobaczyć, więc pobrałem. Odpalam Mail.app — stary wygląd. Redesign UI udostępnili w Poczcie na iOS 18.2, więc jakiś czas temu, sprawdzam więc telefon — stary wygląd.

Szukam w necie, na reddicie piszą, że Mail.app na iOS-ie musi być po angielsku. Zmieniam więc język aplikacji i faktycznie jest redesign. No to wracam na MacBooka i robię podobnie: zmieniam tylko język Poczty na angielski. Nic.

No to lecimy po całości: zmieniam język całego systemu na angielski, restartuję aplikację — no jest! Niezła bzdura. Ale myślę sobie, zrobię jeszcze jeden myk: zmieniam język Mail.app na polski, zostając na angielskim macOS. Restartuję aplikację i... działa nowy wygląd, który w dodatku jest po polsku! 🤯 🤦🏻‍♂️

Descubriendo cómo copiar la URL de un correo en Mail App en Mac. No tiene opción por defecto para ello (cosa que no entiendo) pero no es difícil conseguirlo (adjunto capturas):
1. Crear una nueva entrada de Automator que ejecuta el código de este script.
2. Crear un atajo de teclado para lanzar el servicio cuando estás en un mensaje de Mail App.
3. Pegar la URL donde quieras (la captura es de Things). Al hacer clic, se abrirá el correo directamente. 🙌

I can’t stand link previews in #Mailapp and there doesn’t seem to be any way to turn them off in Mail Preferences. Grr, mumble mumble

Depuis quelques mois, depuis Mail.app, on ne peut plus utiliser l'outil de signature dans Aperçu (pour ajouter sa signature à un PDF) et faire "Répondre" au mail avec le document signé.
Je suis obligé d'ouvrir le PDF, le signer (jusque là, comme avant), puis d'enregistrer le PDF sur mon disque. Faire "Répondre" au mail, ajouter une pièce jointe, aller chercher le PDF et envoyer.

J'ai désactivé quelque chose ?

@joshuabeny1999 @bruno_dietrich Also ich mochte die native #MailApp von #iOS eigentlich. Für Job müssen wir aber seit einiger Zeit #Outlook für iOS nutzen, und ey… ist tatsächlich auch sehr gut und „handy“, nach etwas Eingewöhnung. Ich nutze inzwischen auch die privaten Mailkonten damit, zwecks einheitlicher UX.
