In conclusion: Listen to it if you’re a fan - don’t if you’re not. I will say, 40+ tracks is a tough listen, but I would do the same for a #TechN9ne project and some of those have moments that are “sluggish.” I don’t think it’s better than #TheFallOff nor do I think it comes close to #GNX , I can make the argument that #DontTapTheGlass and #MaidOfHonor has some places to compare but #TylerTheCreator makes more cohesive projects and now, more than ever, it shows. If you’re someone that just wants to vibe and hear something in the background, you’ll have content that works for you. At the same time, you already had that with #SomeSexySongs4U .

The big question and ultimately, what this album will be judged on is: What happens next? If this truly got #Drake out of his #UMG contractual obligations, then #SteveStout ‘s thoughts about #Drake being independent might just come to fruition, albeit when he has significantly slowed down. We’ll see what happens over time.

…and it hurts the brand overall. I will also say, that there’s some tone deaf items here beyond #TheClipse album things and that’s #P-Lo produced track and the #MacDre flip on #TooHardForTheRadio. Considering his track record, he needs to leave California alone, sonically. Leave #2Pac alone, leave #Snoop alone, leave #MacDre and the whole Bay Area alone. #LikeThat was a Bay Area flip and the whole “lil boy” aspect of it… from a controversial standpoint, it checks a box but a #hiphop head, this is just off putting, especially because you can’t deny the beat.

A few more thoughts: #Iceman cover art being Mike’s glove is a choice but if this breaks the tie for number one albums, more power to him. It also could be a nice little dig to #Kendrick with that #MJvsPrince back and forth. I have also seen people have an issue with #MaidofHonor having #Drake ‘s mom #Sandra as well as his Dad #Dennis on the cover but the intro on the album is #HoePhase . To me, that’s just weird but I did laugh when I read that.

…but that doesn’t absolve it from feeling like it’s below his quality. #MaidofHonor is probably the most ambitious of em all, and if you were a person that liked #DrakeWithTheAccents , there’s a lot there for you. It’s an album that you can see will be used for the bot and influencer accounts & to be fair, it’s sonically interesting. My own overthinking self compared #Princess to #WatchThePartyDie from Kendrick (after the battle) in a way that I did when I listen to their verses on #PoeticJustice . Two people can see the same things and come away with it differently. If I think #Drake is being metatextual, it sounds like he’s using “Princess” ODing to refer to hiphop being burnt out to him. Again, that’s me just overthinking things and part of the reason I made this account in the first place :).

Now, the obvious issues, the non-OVO folks are going to loathe these projects and I don’t think he really cared to avoid that. Hate listens still count. Do I think people are going to give it a fair…
