What I did waiting at my doctor appointment. Checked out a few native apps on my phone to see if any did things helpful. Found the native Magnifier in iPhone. #TipOfDay Thus, my knee with crossed legs sitting in lobby chair. Balanced my important cards like credit and insurance on my knee right there, 2 at a time. Magnifier at just right size. Capture gets photo to save in Photos and also second click for text only. Save also. Trim both in native photos edit for front AND back each set of cards.
Make sure to store these in a HIDDEN folder encrypted. I had to get a different app to do this just for “info” photos because iPhone requires Face or Touch to unlock. Nope. So they were exported to it. I try to do this twice a year. Useful if any card lost or stolen.

Could one build a magnifier app for Android by hooking into backend components installed for a libre camera, like apps that use WebView do with the browser back-end? Then wrap a simple GUI around it, with a camera view, and a zoom slider.

I didn't know that Windows 11 had a native magnifier app. It's not fancy but even with a 32" monitor, I sometimes need a larger view of the screen.

Just discovered the #Magnifier application on this iPhone.
Adjust contrast, recolour, magnify. It’s great if you have a #visual impairment. Here I am reading the fine print of a document, blown up to a #legible size.

In their most recent accessibility newsletter, Google announced an app named Magnifier. It doesn't magnify your screen; rather, it uses the device camera to magnify your physical environment.
I have a hard time seeing small letters, so I often use this type of app. Google's is more polished and intuitive than others I've tried.
Still, I'm wondering, is there a magnifier app for Android that you like and would recommend?
