  5. @markhburton

We were defrauded out of a bassoon valued at around £2500 by a crooked music shop that knew they were closing down. It was still our property. In effect, stolen.

The people that were owed £20,000 were mentioned by the court. We were not even noticed.

NO, I do not trust the #judges, the #magistrates, whatever they are, to give the smaller people a FAIR judicial result.

    #starmer and his #authoritarian clap-trap MUST GO.

  7. Peter Hain says #UK govt digging itself into hole over #Palestine Action

“It will end in tears for the government,” he said. “We are seeing retired #magistrates, retired * serving #doctors * all sorts of people being #arrested * now effectively being equated with terrorists such as al-Qaida, which is absolutely wrong”

If legal challenge to proscription is successful, it would be a mercy to all, including the government

So most likely, they mass approved 21 warrants they should have refused. This is not how the Courts should be operating.

  25. @ExtinctionR the usual directive to #magistrates is to modify a sentence downwards if the original sentence is unworkable. If no other factors are involved then #prison would not be an option otherwise it would have been imposed or suspended at the first instance. The only way that prison could be imposed is if the defendant refused to accept a lower penalty. I suspect #misinformation or #disinformation is at work here.
