I'm not sure the salsa verde at the bottom or the tomatoes on top would have moved at all. Having to dig through the top layer of tomatoes to try to get to the chicharrón was very difficult. Again, one of the bigger paper boats they've used for other dishes would have worked fine. For the #DisneyCaliforniaAdventureFoodAndWineFestival today, we had also ordered the new-this-year Chicharrón Nachos: Chicharrón, chorizo, cheese sauce, tomatoes, and salsa verde. Again, the taste & flavor were great. The plating & presentation were baffling and just plain bad. This is not the kind of dish you put in a shaker. The choice of using what is effectively a bowl is completely wrong. It's messy to try to pick it up from the top and even messier with the sauce just on the bottom. It would have worked fine to use the plate like for the Asa'DOS, with the torta on one side, and the sauce in a separate little container or even just on the side, like the salsa verde on the other dish.

Lunch today at #DisneyCaliforniaAdventureFoodAndWineFestival included the following:

returning dish of Asa’DOS: Grilled skirt steak, chipotle chicken, Spanish rice, and salsa verde. The salsa verde was terrific. There were two tortillas underneath the steak, so I ended up using mine to make a taco with some rice and a bit of steak.

We made it into the #MagicKey event celebrating #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure 25th anniversary. We got a really good group return number so we went in shortly after they opened at 2pm. #MagicKeyHolder

One photo op has the opening day map, and #MickeyMouse even came out for a while.

We also tried the quesabirria eggroll with guajillo pepper consomé. The flavor of the meat and the consomé was really good.

Loved the return of the phở dip with rice noodles, sliced beef, shaved jalapeños, pickled onions, and phở broth. So much flavor in the sandwich and the broth.

A really tasty lunch all around.

Lunch today was some #LunarNewYear items from #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure using the #MagicKey #MagicKeyHolder #SipAndSavor pass. #Disneyland

I'd really wanted to try the japchae with kalbi short rib though I don't think I'd noticed the short rib part of the description. The japchae was perfectly flavored and delicious, as was the short rib. I moved the meat out of the way so the noodles are easier to see.

The chipotle chicken wasn't that exciting, though the salsa verde had really nice flavor, and I liked the inclusion of the grilled green onion.

Picked up the #SipAndSavor pass ($45 for #MagicKey #MagicKeyHolder ) for #LunarNewYear at #DisneyCaliforniaAdventure . I wanted the one of Minnie and Mickey in Korean clothing. Be aware that at the individual carts, each cashier might have a different design, so if you're wanting a particular design, make sure you ask before you purchase. #Disneyland

But Disney does proactively warn prospective Magic Key customers of this exact issue: Be careful of buying Magic Keys because reservations are restricted.

Outside of the pandemic era, I don't recall "Inspire", "Believe" & "Enchant" Magic Keys ever being restricted this badly. Sure, "Imagine"/SoCal passes are always tight... but this is crazy.

Magic Keys sales are increasing... yet Disneyland Park isn't more crowded?

Fresh Baked shows what's happening: "Imagine" & "Enchant" Magic Key reservations are being outright blocked on weekends & restricted on many weekdays. It's difficult for even the expensive, high end "Inspire" keys to get weekend reservations.

Glad I didn't buy Magic Keys this year for the family.
