Taken at roughly 7:30 last night, this comet showed a lovely tail and, for once, the weather was kind to us. It was a bit chilly, though!
The comet is just above the lower cloud bank, fortunately it stayed visible long enough for us to get a few good shots.

The Other End Of The Day
After yesterday's chilly photo of a day not getting much sunlight, I thought you might like to see the almost complete opposite today. It didn't become fully dark all night, which disturbed my sleep quite badly.

As we toured the snow-lined cave created by the melting glacier carving an opening in the ice, a brief blizzard raged outside.

Seal The Deal
September, Jökulsárlón á Breiðamerkursandi glacial lagoon in Hornafjörður, south-eastern #Iceland. The moraine lake is tidal and fills with seawater twice a day, refloating the grounded icebergs and bringing in fish and krill, which attract a large number of harbour seals.

This view captivated me for far longer than I was expecting.
As the waves folded softly onto the black sand beach, they met the little river emptying itself into the ocean.
The result was this beautifully hypnotic pattern - water flow going out, waves coming in.
