Well, at the very least I'm putting the new Avacyn, Angel of Horror in my Xu-Ifit deck. I should get to drawing that <3

That's not a very good mirror, it's got an extra hood!

Something I think is *genuinely good* is the use of prepared cards to permit the printing of speculative designs to properly address design problems; we have no place for 'red High Tide' but by putting it on a prepare creature, we can see the card, speculatively, and it's on a card that has some actual use. #magicthegathering

Entrust the Spark should also be white. #magicthegathering

CW: Radioactively bad Magic The Gathering take, Reality Fracture spoilers.
The people of the Echoverse were shown to not be 'real' people with genuine interiority, but were also shown to be capable of growing into real people if the Theorists plan had succeeded. Therefore Tam unleashing Emrakul to eat the Echoverse should not be compared to committing one trillion murders, but instead is more akin to one trillion abortions.

Magic: The Gathering’s ‘Reality Fracture’ Designers Unveil New ‘What If’ Set Details as Four Cards Debut (EXCLUSIVE)

it's a quandrary, how do you put a headliner vitally important planeswalker character on common cards so he's fundamental to the themes? Well, it seems you make a version of him that sucks pants. #magicthegathering

as a designer you choose where you're putting the most complex ideas, where you're asking players to focus, or you just overwhelm them and they drop out. Empower Jace is consuming a LOT of that complexity budget and I can imagine how necessary it is to put jace on common cards...
but it does not look worth it -at all-. #magicthegathering

Empower Jace doesn't strike me as bad but I do assume that the second I'm not drafting Reality Fracture I will never see any of these cards ever again #magicthegathering

Secret Lair Drop

Has my brain been cooked by non-stop spoiler seasons, or are the Reality Fracture reveals coming really slowly? We're supposed to have the whole set by the end of the week, right?

Someone call the Hardy boys, he's got a clue!

We had a super fun Commander night today. So fun that I forgot to take photos today.
In the third and last game, I managed to take my Zinnia, Valley's Voice deck to victory by taking out all my three opponents in my last turn.

By Mark Rosewater's own standards of parasitic mechanics being bad and shitting on Kamigawa block forever, Empower Jace has to be one of the worst new mechanics in a while.
I'm excited to play the set but I'm looking forward to hearing his thoughts on how this is different or innovative aside from just stapling surveil and card draw onto stuff, and forcing awkward permanent types as an limited archetype.

ZZZ five more minutes...

I want to build new commander decks and I have ideas for them but as soon as I start all motivation leaves me. Any tips?

Never forget, also a pirate

I think I secretly want to be a heel.
Dredge is no longer good. Me: Modern stinks
Land destruction at 9-2 in the RC. Me: Hmm.... 😳

Was fracturing reality part of the oath?!?

Sometimes I feel draft is my favourite way to play Magic, sometimes I feel it’s a good Commander pod with good friends, but increasingly I’m having to admit to myself that my favourite way to play Magic is the Scryfall advanced search syntax.

Card night was fun, Garnet, Shroofus, and Sam/Frodo all notched wins :D Pod got a little fussy towards the end of the night as one player took a 20 minute turn and didn't kill anyone :P Still, good times.

Master of Barbs looks like it'll be good in that red-white token/warleader's call deck. #magicthegathering #realityfracture

Oh, he can fracture my reality any day.
