Okay so the reason for this poll started as a kind of joke between myself and a local friend who is a permaculture designer and also rather alternative. The joke basically landed at a certain point on "maggots are disgusting, and we abhor larvae and find ourselves nauseated by them because intuitively or evolutionarily we know they're very likely to spread disease". To that, I jokingly offered to make her a maggot tattoo, which she thought was hilarious but also horrifying and she said she would never.
Later that week, I was working at a coffee shop on, of all things, some really basic thumbnails of blowfly larvae, but I became so disgusted and self conscious about having these enormous pictures of these nasty maggots up on my computer for all to see that I stopped, and the sheet turned then into just a moth that I photographed at the ranch, and now has sat for a while because I can't bring myself to stare at maggot photos for a half hour to make really nice flash from them.
But the more I think about it the more I think it's actually a neat concept: what is more undervalued than these ubiquitous detritivores, who work endlessly even in the harshest or most razed environments? They're kind of like the cockroach: they're pioneers. They and their parents are always going to be there, to find any bit of dung or moist detritus to lay eggs in and wriggle from, devouring them and transmuting, and leaving something better in their wake. But also, they're horrifying and they spread disease. They're at once a memento mori and a symbol of life: they remind us of our bodily fragility, but also of the persistence of life even in the most unlikely of circumstances.
So if you read all that, have you changed your mind at all? Are you starting to dig the concept? Or would you still be disgusted to wear the image of these little beings on your skin? Once again, there are no wrong answers!

I have reasons for this question, but I want to know your initial, kneejerk reaction first. Don't think too hard, another poll is coming after I give some context.
