Mop-up operations continue along the west, northwest, and far southeast perimeters to strengthen control lines and prevent fire from crossing over containment. On the north and northeast perimeter, crews are transitioning to suppression repair work while continuing to patrol and extinguish any scattered hot spots. The southwest flank is being actively patrolled to ensure containment, as there is less isolated heat among the juniper vegetation in these inaccessible areas. Suppression repair work on the east and west flanks includes assessing damage, completing repairs where conditions allow, and documenting fire impacts to support recovery planning.
Hwy 166 is open to all vehicle traffic, and we ask the public to exercise extreme caution when traveling as firefighters, heavy equipment, and crews continue to work along and near the roadway.
Weather: Hot and dry conditions are expected to persist throughout the day. Temperatures will range from the mid-90s to the low 100s, especially in lower elevations. Minimum humidities will fall to single digits in lower elevations and to high teens in higher elevations, with poor overnight recoveries. Winds will generally be from the west to northwest at 8-15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, particularly over exposed ridges and along valleys.

San Luis Obispo County, the following evacuation warnings have been lifted: Zones SLC-225, SLC-266, SLC-301, SLC-359, SLC-365, and SLC-366, SLC-367.
San Luis Obispo County, the following evacuation orders are being downgraded to warnings: Zones SLC-226, SLC-265, SLC-300, SLC-313, SLC-339.
Santa Barbara County, the following evacuation warning has been lifted: Zones SBC-167.
Please use caution when driving near the fire area as firefighters, equipment and crews are still working along the roadways. Please continue to monitor your county Office of Emergency Services for changing conditions.

Size: 80,603 Acres Containment: 35%
Total Personnel: 1,573Firefighters are making good progress on direct and indirect containment lines across the west and northwest perimeters. On the northeast side crews are focused on mop-up and patrol operations. Where possible, firefighters are using direct attack operations on the southeast side in rugged terrain. Crews are working to complete mop-up along the Highway 166 corridor. Winds on Monday reignited some of the unburned fuel in the interior of the fire, but no communities or property were threatened. Some interior pockets continue to smolder. Expect to see more smoke as temperatures increase over the next few days.
The California Incident Management Team 8 hosted a virtual community meeting on July 7th. The recording is available for viewing on the Los Padres National Forest Facebook Page.

The fire has now been mapped at 80,602.9 acres by CAL FIRE Intel aircraft. Their perimeter is visible on the Watch Duty map under the Active Fire Perimeters map layer.Note: Fire perimeters are preliminary and indicate general burn area but do not reflect structure protection efforts by firefighters. A structure within a fire perimeter may not be damaged or destroyed.
