What I fell in love with in the beginning
Is no longer here
I’m not sure
Was it ever even real?
Or just a role or a mask
That you were wearing to get me fall
To fall in love
Fall into a web of lies
The love you promised
That turn into a only a nightmare with no escape
You used call our love mad love
Saying what we have is way more some ordinary love
But it wasn’t our love that was the madness
The madness was inside you
I never saw it until it was too late
And then I was dancing in the edge of your madness
It didn’t take long
Until you started to blame me
For your madness
And the things it made you do
Blaming me and others trying to change you
We when were just trying to help you
Get you the help you so desperately needed
Before it would have been too late
And you would be over the edge
Like you were screaming in middle of the night
How the madness was taking you down
You were losing your mind
Sometimes you realized it
Other times you accused me being the crazy one
So many times that I almost started to believe it
It was hard to tell which one of us was the crazy one?
I was starting to lose my own mind
While dancing on the tightrope in edge of this madness
Not sure if next step would take us over the edge
When nothing I tried to do
Didn’t help you
I was so desperately praying help from a god
Because I had nothing else left to turn to
You were yelling no god can help either of us
You yelled me that you never asked to be saved
Yet there were so many night you begged on your knees
To me to save you
And when I tried
You blamed me trying to save you
I was losing myself in this prison you made
Somewhere between labyrinth of lies and edge of never ending madness
Some point I realized that I can’t ever save you
Because you don’t want to be saved
Your hell was your home
I knew I had to save myself instead
Before it would be too late
Either going over the edge of madness
Or your now never ending rage will take over in fatal way
I can see it so clearly
Now I’m done dancing in edge of your madness
There is nothing left of us
I’m running away from this nightmare
This is not easy but I had to do it
Leave you and not walk but run
Run away
Like my life depends on it
Because it does
Soon I will be safe
And I’m no longer stuck in the edge of your madness

Die neue Variante der Origin Story von Harley Quinn in "Joker foile à deux" dürfte ganz interessant werden. Aber ich für meinen Teil fand die allererste Origin Story in BTAS “Mad Love" ja damals schon perfekt ausgearbeitet und das waren nur wenige Szenen in einer Rückblende, die Harleys Psychogramm offengelegt haben.
Wird schwer das noch zu toppen, selbst mit Joaquin Phoenix & Lady Gaga an Bord. 🙂
