Gestern an einer Ampel hält ein älterer Herr mit längerem grauem Schnauzbart und sonst grauem Dreitagebart auf einer #BMW #Boxer im Café-Racer-Stil neben meiner offenen #Ente (auch ein Zweizylinderboxermotor) und fragt mich (grauer Vollbart) einfach nur "Baujahr?" Ich: 89. Er: 71. Wir beide grinsen. Und schon war die Ampel wieder grün. Kurz, aber #MadeMyDay.

So, my son (18) and I (43), and group of my friends, were out at baseball game last night watching one of our other friends play. One of my friends brought her friend who was visiting from interstate.

Today she comes up to me and says that her interstate friend had asked if my son and I were brother and sister, and when she’d told him that we were actually mother and son he’d been shocked and was sure I wasn’t old enough to have a child, let alone one who is now an adult.

It doesn’t take much to make someone’s day, but telling them they look young enough to be their teenage sons sister is a pretty good way to achieve it.
