Ha sido ver este teaser de un remaster de Super Robot Wars ZII y que se me escape un pedete.
Por qué? Porque entre las series que metieron sus robotes ahí para la ensalada de leches que es un SRW están:
- Macross Frontier
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
- Eureka Seven.

Oh yeah, forgot my final #AniMangaAlsoRan, the Pineapple Cake from #MacrossFrontier!
The ending of episode 17 "Goodbye Sister" was a kind of mirror to SDF Macross' shocking episode 18 "Pineapple Salad".
Both pineapple treats represent some of the biggest death flags in all of #anime... but only one was a cake.

A remote control can look like anything, as Brera Stern demonstrates. Usually, he pilots his advanced Guld Works VF-27 Lucifer variable fighter from inside the cockpit... except when he doesn't. In some cases, the cybernetically rebuilt Brera controls his fighter from afar making Brera himself the remote control!
(Actually, I think it's his stupid hair clip as he loses cybernetic control of the fighter in the series and movie when the hair clip is damaged...)

Almost halfway through, Macross Frontier fundamentally suffers compared to Macross 7 for me because of the fact I think idol singers are so much less cool than rock bands. :ac_laughter:
It does have the third best Macross soundtrack out of the six Macross things I've seen so far, which sounds middling until youy realize it's behind the unfairly stacked competition of Macross 7 and Macross Plus. :P
(Macross Plus and Frontier are both Yoko Kanno soundtracks, but Plus just has the incredibly cool unearthly alien evil Hatsune Miku soundtrack to pull it ahead.)

A couple alternate #anime examples for Starting Line for this week's #AniMangaFoundIt topic:
First, I had a second pick from #MacrossFrontier featuring Alto Saotome's YF-29 Durandal launching from the Macross Quarter's smaller, single-surfaced flight deck while supported by genki songstress Ranka Lee.
Second, I had Lemon Yakishio from #TooManyLosingHeroines. As one of her school's top sprinters she sees plenty of starting lines.

I was a bit grumpy that Ozma Lee's Fire Bomber fandom was treated as an in-joke on "Frontier" and we didn't see a stronger engagement with that catalog of songs (like we see with the Minmay catalog), but this film pretty much addresses that complaint from me. #Macross7 #MacrossFrontier #Macross

So I know a few weeks back I had a poll for the next #anime to watch. The choice was #macrossfrontier. Unfortunately after I jumped in and got through 3 episodes... I have been struggling with an internal battle to continue the series over the past few weeks.
Outside of Ranka, I really did not like a single character. Also the CG is just not great.
So I am dropping the series, and moving on to something else. I will post another poll later, which I have a theme for.

Got through the first 3 episodes of #MacrossFrontier and going to stop there for the day. I have mixed feelings about the show at this point.
I like the setup so far and characters for the most part. When the show is focused on the 2D animation, I'm really enjoying it... BUT the CG ranges from mid to awful, and when its awful, it keeps killing my vibe.

The anime poll has ended, and the next anime I will be watching outside of the weekly summer season shows is Macross Frontier.
It won with 43% of the vote, and Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear was far behind in 2nd with 22%.
Honestly I didn't expect Macross Frontier to win, so this will be interesting.

#MacrossFrontier is not a perfect series. It’s not ever my first recommendation. But, it is something special. There’s great action, some delightfully subtle character moments, and soo much good music!
To me, it is the platonic ideal of Macross’ unique mix of sci-fi, romance, and song. And I had a ton of fun revisiting it.
