  1. Our Swamp Wallaby spent about an hour in the backyard this morning grazing until it started to rain and she took off in to the bush for cover.

  2. When I was leaving for work this morning, I noticed our regular Swamp Wallaby in the front yard (who had clearly noticed me too).

She has a joey in her pouch who's clearly getting fairly large.

  3. It's mostly overcast today, so the Red-necked Wallabies are out grazing during the day.

The first one was just across the road from where we are staying, the other three further down the road.

UPDATE: I've since been told the two bottom wallabies are Black-Striped Wallabies. (they have a black stripe on their back and the red fur extends to the arms)

  4. A lot fewer wallabies hanging around at the moment. Might be because it is summer, since we usually visit the Bunya Mountains in winter, but there are still a few about.

This is a Red-necked Wallaby. It stands about 1m tall at most.

  5. While preparing breakfast this morning, I looked out the window and who should I see in the backyard, but our little Swamp Wallaby also enjoying breakfast.

(last shot is when I was leaving for work, and she was "hiding" in the tall grass)

  6. Our swamp wallaby is back this morning, wondering what happened to all the tasty long grass that was there the day before (it was mowed yesterday).

  7. Our resident Swamp Wallaby was back in the yard yesterday, happily munching some weeds (until it started bucketing down with rain, whereby she fled for cover).

  8. The day started well with a Wallaby in the front yard, and ended well with the same wallaby in the backyard, and being greeted by King Parrots and Currawongs on the veranda.

The less said about the rest of the day the better.

  9. It is overcast this morning, so the wallaby is in the backyard again. (there were two, but the smaller one bound off at the sounds of my footsteps upstairs).

  10. And a couple of still photos I took after the video.

Stayed in the backyard for ages (might still be there, but it's dark out now).

  11. Swamp Wallaby is back in the backyard this arvo. Happily munching away.

I managed to sneak out on to the veranda to capture some video.

  12. I had some apple cores, and a fruit-fly stung apple that rather than composting, I put out on the "offering rock" for the critters.

Seems this swamp wallaby found it last night.
